Aortic valve sclerosis relates to cardiovascular events in patients with hypertension (a LIFE substudy)

American Journal of Cardiology, Volume 95, No. 1, Year 2005

This study investigated whether aortic valve (AV) sclerosis was associated with traditional cardiovascular (CV) risk factors and CV events in hypertensive patients with electrocardiographic left ventricular (LV) hypertrophy, as previously demonstrated in the general population. AV sclerosis was associated with several CV risk factors and predicted CV events independently of prevalent CV disease and traditional CV risk factors, including LV mass and ejection fraction. © 2005 by Excerpta Medica Inc.
