A rare cause of posterior mediastinal tumors: Extramedullary hematopoiesis

We report a case of a patient with intrathoracic extramedullary hematopoiesis presenting as a posterior mediastinal tumor, without associated myelofibrosis. Pathophysiology and the options for diagnosis and treatement in this condition are discussed.
