Organochlorine pesticide and PCB residues in plant foliage. (Mangifera indica) from West Africa

Mango leaves, at the end of their natural cycle, collected in 71 sites of 5 different countries have been used for a study on the contamination by chlorinated insecticides (lindane, p,p'DDT and related compounds), HCB and PCBs in the terrestrial ecosystems of West Africa. The role of this region in the global circulation of these contaminants is briefly discussed. © 1988.
