A controlled trial of brotizolam versus flunitrazepam as a hypnotic

Brotizolam, an new thieno-triazolodiazepine, was tested against flunitrazepam and placebo on patients the night before surgery. Flunitrazepam had a shorter onset of action while brotizolam caused longer and deeper sleep with no gastro-intestinal side-effects. It was preferred to flunitrazepam by the patients.
