Distribution stratigraphique des acritarches dans le paléozoïque du sahara algérien

Review of Palaeobotany and Palynology, Volume 18, No. 1-2, Year 1974

The Palaeozoic sequence of the Algerian Sahara is well characterized bytypical acritarch assemblages. Twenty-three palynological zones have been defined between the Lower Tremadocian and the Strunian with Hymenozonotriletes lepidophytus. They were based upon ranges of acritarchs, chitinozoans and spores. A range chart is presented, showing the distribution of 160 typical acritarch species alongside a composite litho-stratigraphical section. The data used originate from three main areas: Illizi-Tinrhert basin, Grand Erg Oriental and Grand Erg Occidental. © 1974.
