Aquatic weeds, especially the floating type, and microorganisms have proliferated in Lake Barekese, Ghana, generating problems of taste, odor and filter clogging. Details on the use of aeration, prechlorination, coagulation and clariflocculation, filtration, chlorination and terminal pH adjustment for the production of drinking water are presented.
