Meningioma presenting with hemispheric acute subdural Hematoma: A review of the literature

Interdisciplinary Neurosurgery: Advanced Techniques and Case Management, Volume 34, Article 101804, Year 2023

Meningiomas are the most common primary brain tumors accounting 33.8––36.8% of primary central nervous system (CNS) tumors. Most are benign encapsulated CNS tumors. Intracranial hemorrhage associated with meningioma is rare. Relatively, few such cases are described in the source literature, and it is estimated that intracranial meningiomas presenting with hemorrhage account for about one percent of all meningiomas. Considering the rarity of meningioma with symptomatic subdural hematoma, we are presenting a 37-year-old rural woman clinical presentation, imaging finding, histopathologic result and surgical management outcome.
