A arylnaphthalene lignan from Haplophyllum buxbaumii

Haplophyllum buxbaumii has yielded a new diphyllin glycoside, which was characterized as 4-O-{bis-α-L-xylopyranosyl (1 → 2, 1 → 5) β-D- apiofuranosyloxy}-6,7-dimethoxy-1-(3,4-methylenedioxyphenyl)-3- hydroxymethyl naphthalene-2-carboxylic acid lactone. Taiwanin-H is also reported for the first time from a member of the Rutaceae.
