Four microfungi collected from Italy and Russia are reported. Morphologicexamination revealed that all four species can be accommodated in the family Didymellacea(Pleosporales) and more precisely in the genera Ascochyta, Boeremia, Didymella anEpicoccum. ITS, LSU, RPB2 and β-TUB sequence data were analysed to investigate thephylogenetic relationships. Two new species, Boeremia galiicola and Epicoccum mackenziei aintroduced, while Ascochyta medicaginicola and Didymella macrostoma are new records froRussia and Italy. A sexual stage is reported for the first time in Ascochyta medicaginicola. Ataxa are described and illustrated with discussion on their taxonomic placement. Multigenphylogenetic analyses provide further evidence to support the introduction of these taxonomnovelties and their classification within the Didymellaceae.
