Le PRF en implantologie dentaire: Une technique prometteuse à Madagascar?

Medecine Buccale Chirurgie Buccale, Volume 19, No. 3, Year 2013

The PRF in dental implant: a promising technique in Madagascar. The indication of a dental implant is sometimes limited by the volume of the residual alveolar bone. A bone graft or the provision of a substitute material may be necessary. PRF (platelet-rich fibrin) is an autogenous concentrate platelet, used to stimulate bone formation and promote healing. This is a recent use preparation. The interest of this work is based on the management of hard and soft tissues in pre-implant surgery. Its objective is to show the clinical usefulness of a simple preparation technique for tissue regeneration in oral surgery in general and in dental implant in particular. This study describes the preparation of a PRF ad its use. It is an extemporaneous preparation, performed in a “dental operating room” on patients for implant placement. Venous blood is collected, placed in tubes without anticoagulant and centrifuged at 3000 rpm for 10 mn to obtain PRF clot. This is pressed between sterile gaze to obtain PRF membrane which is used alone or mixed with autogenous bone or substitute material and placed against the residual bone under the flap. In Madagascar, dental implant has been practiced only in recent years, and the use of PRF should be very promising because of its advantages. However, it should be used with caution because authors are not unanimous about it. © SFCO, 2013.
