Decerebrate rigidity due to subdural haematoma

Medicine and Surgery, Volume 13, No. 5, Year 1973

Decerebrate rigidity is a rare clinical manifestation of subdural hematoma. It is important to recognize this entity so as to alert the clinician to suspect a supratentorial rather than an infratentorial lesion, and to proceed with carotid angiography. Subdural hematoma, in spite of decerebrate rigidity, is a curable condition.
