Multi-criteria methodology for the choice of the site location of a storage and water transport work in Ouagadougou

In this paper, we started with 187 potential sites for setting up of a storage and water transport work identified in the city of Ouagadougou. We used a multi-criteria methodology in order to just keep qualified sites. We integrated exclusion criteria which led us to just retain six qualified sites. The ArcGIS.10 software and the ORESTE method proved complementary in this study. Once the sites were identified, we used the ORESTE method to classify the selected sites in relation with global preference integrating all the social, environmental and hydraulic factors.
