Bilateral elastofibroma dorsi

Feuillets de Radiologie, Volume 48, No. 3, Year 2008

Elastofibroma dorsi is a soft tissue pseudotumor typically located under the tip of the scapula. It is characterized by the proliferation of fibrous and adipose tissue and most frequently affects elderly women. We present four cases of bilateral elastofibroma dorsi. This mass is usually asymptomatic and discovered incidentally by the patients. The characteristic location and the specific MRI and CT-scan findings usually allow the diagnosis and prevent radical surgery. © 2008. Elsevier Masson SAS.
