European Journal of Scientific Research, Volume 45, No. 3, Year 2010

This study that is a part of the dynamic of Voluntary Natural Reserves (VNR) creation in Côte d'Ivoire, is one of the first steps of the creation and aims to assess the floristic and structural diversity in the area of the future Voluntary Natural Reserves. This diversity was assessed considering three limits of diameters at breast high (dbh): dbh ≥ 2,5 cm; dbh ≥ 5 cm et dbh ≥ 10 cm. The results showed that the studied VNR area is relatively diversified. The study showed that the diversity of the forest is low when the considered dbh increase seen showing that the diversity measured with only large trees do not reflect Diversités Floristique et Structurale sur le Site d'une Réserve Naturelle Volontaire à Azaguié, Sud-est de la Côte d'Ivoire the full reality. Given its preponderance in the the forest, the studied site can be qualified as Tarrietia utilis forest. © 2010 EuroJournals Publishing, Inc.
