Medecine des Maladies Metaboliques, Volume 8, No. 2, Year 2014

Diabetic neuropathy is a common microangiopathic complication of diabetes mellitus and, in its painful form, is the most common cause of chronic neuropathic pain. The primary objective of this study was to establish the frequency of diabetic neuropathy as well as the frequency of its painful form in an Algerian cohort of 400 diabetic patients. The secondary objectives were to understand the risk factors associated with these functional symptoms of diabetes, and to determine the severity of neuropathic pain and the treatments used to relieve this pain. © 2014 - Elsevier Masson SAS - Tous droits réservés.
