Systemic antibiotic prophylaxis for preventing infectious complications in maxillofacial trauma surgery

This is a protocol for a Cochrane Review (Intervention). The objectives are as follows: To assess the effects of systemic antibiotic prophylaxis for preventing surgical site infections in people undergoing open reduction with or without internal fixation of trauma-induced maxillofacial fractures, and if possible to determine the most effective antibiotic type, dosage and duration.
