Study of the decay Jψ→γηππ

The radiative decay Jψ→γηππ has been studied with data taken with the crystal-ball detector at the SPEAR e+e- storage ring. In addition to the well-known η′, the ηππ mass spectrum shows a broad enhancement centered at ∼ 1700 MeV. The authors have searched for the ι(1440) in the ηππ mass spectrum and find R(Jψ→γ ι)(ι→ηππ)R(Jψ→γι) (ι→KK̄π)<0.5 (90% confidence level). © 1983 The American Physical Society.
