Description
Migration is the process that leads an individual or a group of individuals to settle, in the long run, in a foreign territory or country. The migrant willing to achieve a successful integration is expected to go through a process that will ensure his adaptation to his new environment, as well as a smooth separation from his original setting. The situation of the elderly is quite peculiar, because of the scarcity of migration among people of that age, but also in terms of their psychological specificities. The present work attempts to discuss the stakes of emigration on the elderly person on the basis of a clinical case study. © 2014 Elsevier Masson SAS.
