Description
The aim of this study was to evaluate the value of labial salivary gland biopsy in the diagnosis of amyloïdosis. In a prospective study, we entered 31 patients with amyloïdosis already detected by another biopsie and 29 patients without amyloïdosis. The sensitivity of the technique in our hands is 0.86 and the specificity is 1. Because of its simplicity, it must be the first biopsy to perform when amyloïdosis is suspected. © 1992.
