Molecular triangles containing naphthalenediimide redox-active units are employed as promising active materials for organic lithium-ion batteries. In addition to exceptional low-rate performance, a capacity of 71.1 mAh g-1 is maintained at 10 C after 300 cycles. The performance of these organic compounds exists in contrast to a control naphthalenediimide monomer, which lacks the same shape-persistent structure.
