Chemotherapy of tuberculosis of the loco motor system. Results in 252 cases

The authors report the results of standard chemotherapy during twelve mth for 252 patients with tuberculosis of the locomotor system. Two patients died and 62 were lost sight of. 188 patients were checked one year after treatment with 98% good results and 2% failures. Thirteen patients were followed for as long as 60 mth and only one case with deterioration of the initial result was seen. Eighteen patients in 22 received chemotherapy for less than twelve mth but nevertheless with a good result. So the authors consider the possibility of treatment by means of shorter and regular courses of chemotherapy.
