The management of measles in Nairobi

The programme for the management of children with measles at the Kenyatta National Hospital, and Infectious Diseases Hospital, Nairobi has been revised. The following changes were introduced; Selections of patients for admission, Progression Nursing care in measles ward, a measles room and daily measles clinic in the Paediatric Outpatient Observation Room. The important complications of measles and their management are described. This programme has reduced the total number of measles deaths by 46%.
