Findings of an on-going study assessing the influence of soil properties, stabilizer type and content on the compressive strength performance of pressed earth blocks are presented. Results from over 800 test blocks, stabilized with ordinary Portland cement, hydrated lime and super sulphated cement, and compacted using a low cost manual press, are presented. The effects of block moisture content on compressive strength are discussed.
