Influence of Catalyst Methyl Ethyl Ketone Peroxide, Concentration on Gelation Characteristics and Shrinkage of Orthophthalate Unsaturated Polyester Resin

The effect of Concentration of Methyl Ethyl Ketone Peroxide on the Gelation Characteristics and Shrinkage Properties of Orthophthalate Resin has been studied: Activation energy for gelation at different concentration of MEKP has been calculated. Mechanism of gelation and a Kinetic rate equation have been proposed to explain the possible reasons for the variation of above properties of resin with concentration of catalyst.
