Treatment of intestinal bilharziasis with oral oxamniquine. (A preliminary report)

Oxamniquine is a promising compound for the oral treatment of S. mansoni infection. Preliminary results on its efficiency, tolerability and safety denote that a total dose of 60.0 mg/kg is highly effective. Trials are still being carried out to find the most effective and suitable dose for mass therapy of S. mansoni cases.
