Management of type 1 diabetic children in Algeria (DiabCare Pediatric)

DiabCare Pediatric is a multicenter, transversal study, which in Algeria included 349 type 1 diabetic patients aged less than 18 years and diagnosed since at least 5 years. Glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) was ≤ to 7.5% in 22% of the patients only, and mean HbA1c for the entire population was 9.2%, reflecting an insufficient glycemic control. In this article, we report epidemiological data on the disease and its management and identify predictive factors of diabetes control.
