Head injury in paediatrics

Trauma is one of the leading causes of death and disability in children. Children with serious head trauma often have multiple injuries. Early identification and proper management of these patients greatly affects the outcome. This article covers pathophysiology of head injury in children; assessment and immediate management; anaesthesia for neurosurgical management; and principles of postoperative care in PICU.
