Fibrolamellar hepatocellular carcinoma with endobiliary bud

Journal Africain du Cancer, Volume 4, No. 3, Year 2012

Fibrolamellar hepatocellular carcinoma (FHC), is a histological alternative of carcinoma hepatocellular (CHC). It is rare, especially associated to an endobiliarybud. It's a young subject pathology, without any sex prevalence. It occurs apart from any hepatopathy. The etiology is unknown and there are no supporting factors. The alphafetoprotein (AFP) is normal. The magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) makes it possible to evoke the diagnosis confirmed by the anatomopathological examination. The treatment rests on the surgery: hepatectomy or liver transplantation. The forecast is good because of its resecability, the absence of a subjacent cirrhosis and young nature of the patients. We report the case of a 27 years old man who presents fibrolamellar hepatocellular carcinoma with endobiliary bud. © Springer-Verlag France 2012.
