Description
Detailed thermoluminescence (TL) dating of the loess-paleosol sequences in the Carpathian Basin, suggests that the conventional chronology of Mende-Base soil (soil F5) representing the Riss-Würm interglacial is not tenable, because it is much older. The results also suggest that the recently reported TL-age underestimation effect in some loess and sand samples from Northwestern Europe does not occur in the samples analyzed in this study. © 1989.
