A mathematical exposition of the global stability of a viral epidemiological model for malicious code propagation in computer networks

Journal of Computational and Theoretical Nanoscience, Volume 14, No. 2, Year 2017

This paper considers a Susceptible-Exposed-Infectiousclass-I1-Infectious class-I2-Removed class-R1-Recovered class R2 (SEI1I2R1R2 epidemiological model for the spreading of a malicious code in a network environment. Model stability analysis of the system is accomplished through using Routh-Hurwitz criterion in conjunction with Lyapunov direct method. Next, the net generation matrix (NGM) approach is utilized for obtaining the system's basic reproduction number. Then, the system's global stability analysis is obtained through using Lyapunov direct method.
