Geometrical design of the plinth for CFRDs

Plinth (toe slab) geometry is complex in that primarily the plinth planes common with the face slab have to be orientated correctly in three dimensions to provide a satisfactory connection. This article defines a mathematical procedure for determining these planes as well as all other plinth dimensions and orientations. The result is that the plinth geometry can be defined using a computer model for trouble free use on site.
